Responsibilities
- Review requirements and acceptance criteria to identify risks and test scenarios.
- Plan and execute functional, exploratory, regression and cross-browser tests.
- Test APIs, integrations, forms, role permissions and data validation paths.
- Create and maintain automated checks using appropriate browser or API frameworks.
- Record defects with reproducible steps, evidence, severity and expected behaviour.
- Contribute accessibility, performance and release-readiness checks where relevant.
Required skills and experience
- Experience in software testing or quality assurance for web applications or digital products.
- Understanding of test planning, cases, defect lifecycle and risk-based prioritisation.
- Ability to test user journeys, APIs, data flows and integrations.
- Clear defect reporting and communication with developers.
- Working knowledge of version control and at least one test or scripting tool.
Helpful experience
- Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Postman or similar tools.
- Accessibility testing, performance testing or authorised security testing.
- Regression checks in CI/CD pipelines.
What success can look like
- Important journeys have clear coverage and release risks are visible early.
- Defects are reproducible, prioritised and retested.
- Automation protects stable critical paths without becoming brittle.
